Relicense the project to Apache-2.0 OR MIT and CC-BY-SA-4.0
Dear contributors,
this project is about to be moved to a workspace in a new repository (alpm/alpm). Starting from October (2024-10-01), a dedicated team (including me) will be working on this codebase and further crates.
As initial author of the project, I would like to move it to a more liberal license setup (from "LGPL-3.0-or-later" to "Apache-2.0 OR MIT" for the code and from "GFDL-1.3" to "CC-BY-SA-4.0" for all documentation) as I believe this to be more future proof with regards to collaboration and use.
To make this happen, I need the permission from all additional contributors:
My sincerest apologies for the short notice about this. Unfortunately, the past months have been rather packed and the work starting in October requires me to move forward with this now, rather than while the work is being done.
Please respond as soon as possible (ideally until 2024-09-30), as otherwise we will have to drop commits, that can not be relicensed, which will introduce extra work.
Many thanks for your help!
