cloud-init broken (?)

While working on !117 (closed), the last missing piece for a (nice) #27 (closed), I can't get it to work anymore, when starting from scratch.

I definitely had it all working nicely 3 weeks ago... ;-)

I'm not entirely sure if I'm just tired, or if a recent archlinux change broke something, or if one of the changes made today before MR merge broke something.

I'll dig into it, and report back here.
