Existing RSS feed needs improvements, no feed for package updates

Our existing RSS feed has some problems:

  • no mail address (this is probably intended?)
  • wrong application type (should be application/rss+xml)
  • image title doesn't match channel title (needs RFC confirmation)
  • item should contain a guid element (we can use the link to the package here)
  • Missing atom:link with rel="self"

Also, we currently only have a feed for new packages, not for package updates. For the latter, should we implement a second RSS file (/rss-updates/?) or another channel in /rss/?

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
