Version upgrade does not work if the version string contains plus sign

Last time when I tried to upgrade the package libcdio-paranoia, the command pkgctl version upgrade was failed due to the plus sign in the version string:

$ pkgctl version check
Out-of-date
 ! libcdio-paranoia: upgrade from version 10.2+2.0.1 to 10.2+2.0.2

$ pkgctl version upgrade
📡 libcdio-paranoia: query latest version
⌛ Upgrading: 1/1 [100%] |==> ERROR: Non-standard pkgver declaration
