dbus-broker 36-1 makes gsd-usb-protection crash

Description:

Upgrading dbus-broker (and dbus-broker-units) to v. 36-1 makes gsd-usb-protection crash (segfault) on startup.

Additional info:

  • package version(s):
    • dbus-broker 36-1
    • dbus-broker-units 36-1
    • gnome-settings-daemon 46.0-1

Steps to reproduce:

Upgrade the system with pacman -Syu so that both dbus-broker and dbus-broker-units are upgraded to 36-1. Reboot and start GNOME X11 session. /usr/lib/gsd-usb-protection process from org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.UsbProtection.desktop will crash with segfault and GNOME session startup will be delayed for 10+ seconds.

Note: awesome-gnome was used to run GNOME X11 session.

Workaround:

Downgrade both dbus-broker and dbus-broker-units to 35-2 and reboot: GNOME X11 session will start without delays and gsd-usb-protection will run without crash.
