GIMP Crashes/Segfaults

Description:

Basic operations are segfaulting or crashing.

File -> New with any settings segfaults on my machine.

Opening a JPG/PNG also throws errors and fails.

Plug-in crashed: "file-png" (/usr/lib/gimp/3.0/plug-ins/file-png/file-png)

The dying plug-in may have messed up GIMP's internal state. You may want to save your images and restart GIMP to be on the safe side.

I have removed all cache and settings, even on a fresh install this happens.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open GIMP
2. Try to create a new file
3. Watch it segfault
