Deactivation of DT_HASH breaks Easy Anti Cheat (EAC) (for games)

Description:

The deactivation of DT_HASH breaks (83899c6e) Easy Anti Cheat for me.

The commit mentions some communication from Valve. Is there some pointer where I can read up on it?

I do understand that Arch cannot support this patch indefinitely. In particular, as this is only affecting a small crowd. Do you have any recommendation? Run a custom glibc with the patch included?

Additional info:

  • package version(s): Gaming broke for me at 2.38-8 and reverting to 2.38-7 resolves this issue.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Update to 2.38-8 and run Back4Blood on Steam.
  2. Game greets with "Failed to load anti cheat module."
  3. Game exits.
