Dependent applications fail to start - rebuild required?

evolution: error while loading shared libraries: libgspell-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
gitg: error while loading shared libraries: libgspell-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Steps to reproduce:

1. do a system upgrade - this will upgrade gspell
2. try to start evolution, gitg or another dependent application
3. the application won't start and print the error in the log instead
