[Packaging] regular .jpg panoramic image is considered as a clip when imported

Description:

Duplicated from https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=484752.

Hi team, it seems that kdenlive current package (kdenlive 24.02.1-2) has some "packaging" issues (see Jean-Baptiste's comment). With their latest AppImage (24.02.1 x86_64), I couldn't reproduce the behavior.

The issue being that when you try to import a .jpg panoramic image or when you reopen a project that contains one, the thumbnail appears completely white, as shown below :

This issue didn't exist in previous releases (I can't give an exact version, but I remember the 23.08 working fine with panoramic images).

So, Jean-Baptiste believes there might be an issue, probably with how mlt is packaged. Quoting his comment for reference :

JB : [...] probably some missing or not compiled MLT modules.

Additional info:

  • package version(s): pacman -Q kdenlive => kdenlive 24.02.1-2
  • config and/or log files: Backed up ~/.config/kdenlive** and ~/.local/share/kdenlive**, starting blank as if it was a fresh install
  • link to upstream bug report, if any: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=484752

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a new project
  2. Import a panoramic image (drag and drop, or "add clip" button)
  3. => Thumbnail turns out completely white

Thanks for supporting kdenlive 😄 on Arch !
