/etc/pam.d/ly not included in PKGBUILD, breaking user-made changes with updates

I am opening the issue for u/amgdev9's post on Reddit.

Description:

As mentioned in #1 (closed) too, /etc/pam.d/ly is not included in the backup= array in PKGBUILD. This causes the config file to be replaced during updates to ly and without warning; making user-made changes not persist.

In this specific case, it breaks auto-unlocking using kwallet.

Including the file in the backup= array would allow a .pacnew file to be created, preventing this issue and still letting the user know that there is a change to the /etc/pam.d/ly file.

Additional info:

  • Package: ly 1.0.3-1
  • Related file: /etc/pam.d/ly
