commented on issue #2 "add required dependencies (for makepkg)" at Arch Linux / Packaging / Packages / pacman

AUR without base-devel is not supprted. But installing fakeroot allows to install simple packages such as -bin,-hook without base-devel.

I think you wanted the pacman project, this is packaging only.

This isn't the right approach and also horrible to keep track of the dropins upstream....

@allan what was your plan here?

That looks nice. What is the planned/intended way to distribute these now to the package maintainers?

Check out the libmakepkg_dropins repo where that is fixed.

commented on issue #21 "-z pack-relative-relocs unsupported by ld.gold (sometimes picked as LD)" at Arch Linux / Packaging / Packages / pacman

Worth noting ld.gold is on the chopping block. Although, we're building from git so it should be around for a fair while yet...

commented on merge request !15 "makepkg.conf: Use all cores by default for MAKEFLAGS" at Arch Linux / Packaging / Packages / pacman

That's a weak argument since -j2 is also not the default value.

Commented options like that (someimtes) implies what the default value in a config is. I don't think we should do this to avoid confusion.
