Backport thumbnailer fixes

Description:

Please consider backporting the following three upstream video thumbnailing fixes:

Upstream is sadly not much active anymore and there is no plan to release a new Totem version in the near future.

These fixes are already applied downstream in multiple distributions including Debian (Ubuntu) and Fedora.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
