Dear RT folks! I'm pleased to announce the v6.3.1-rt13 patch set. Changes since v6.3.1-rt12: - Two posix-timers picked-up from the list. They are scheduled for upstream inclusion. One of prevents a livelock on PREEMPT_RT in itimer_delete(). Patches by Thomas Gleixner. - A softirq handling patch from the list 'revert: "softirq: Let ksoftirqd do its job' from Paolo Abeni. This revert should reduce a lot of trouble which start once ksoftirqd is woken up. The 6.1-RT series has the ktimersd thread which mitigates some of the pain. This patch should render the patch obsolete. Should everything work out as expected I intend to backport this patch the earlier RT series and revert the ktimersd patch in the v6.1 series. Dear RT folks! I'm pleased to announce the v6.3-rt11 patch set. Changes since v6.3-rt10: - The locking patches for flushed queued I/O on lock contention have been updated and reposted. - The TPM patch was slightly altered based on upstream's feedback. - The periodic tick timer has been aligned CLOCK_MONOTONIC. It has been broken since v4.19-rc1. This is needed for instance for cyclictest's --secaligned argument to work properly. Dear RT folks! I'm pleased to announce the v6.3-rc5-rt8 patch set. Changes since v6.3-rc5-rt7: - Optimise the rtmutex slowpath with DEBUG_RT_MUTEXES enabled to not always invoke blk_flush_plug() if the lock can be acquired without blocking. - Cache one struct sigqueue on signal reception and use this cache while sending a signal. This improves latency for signal heavy applications. - Improve the comment in ptrace_stop() regarding the current situation and PREEMPT_RT. Dear RT folks! I'm pleased to announce the v6.3-rc3-rt5 patch set. Changes since v6.3-rc3-rt4: - Small updates to the printk series. - Mel Gorman reported that LTP's dio_truncate does not complete on PREEMPT_RT because rw_semaphore and rwlock_t locks are always unfair to writers. This has been changed by forcing the reader into to slow path and so allowing the writer to obtain the lock. - Crystal Wood reported that a filesystem (XFS) may deadlock while flushing during schedule. This has been mitigated by flushing IO before blocking on a lock. As a side effect, there will be more flushed IO with RTMUTEX debugging enabled because here the fast-path fails always (in order to use the slowpath for testing). - The TPM and zram was slightly altered while they have been reposted. Known issues: None. The delta patch against v6.3-rc3-rt4 is appended below and can be found here: https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/projects/rt/6.3/incr/patch-6.3-rc3-rt4-rt5.patch.xz You can get this release via the git tree at: git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/rt/linux-rt-devel.git v6.3-rc3-rt5 The RT patch against v6.3-rc3 can be found here: https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/projects/rt/6.3/older/patch-6.3-rc3-rt5.patch.xz The split quilt queue is available at: https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/projects/rt/6.3/older/patches-6.3-rc3-rt5.tar.xz Sebastian Signed-off-by: Sebastian Andrzej Siewior <bigeasy@linutronix.de>

Dear RT folks! I'm pleased to announce the v6.3-rc2-rt3 patch set. Changes since v6.3-rc2-rt2: - The i915 and other driver using io_mapping_map_atomic_wc() function could deadlock. Reported by Richard Weinberger. - A larger printk rework by John Ogness. This printk series is based on the latest work by John and most of the patches have been submitted for upstream review. As in the previous version the concept of an atomic console remained. That means a crash (BUG(), panic(), …) without a atomic console driver remains invisible on PREEMPT_RT. The only available atomic console driver is the 8250 UART and has been tested on X86. Known issues - Crystal Wood reported that a filesystem (XFS) may deadlock while flushing during schedule.
