ISO exceeds 1 GB in size

Hello.

For many years it was possible to write Arch ISO onto a 1 GB USB flash drive. With the recent release it is not possible any more:

$ dd if=archlinux-2024.06.01-x86_64.iso of=/dev/sda bs=4M oflag=direct status=progress
1031798784 bytes (1,0 GB, 984 MiB) copied, 277 s, 3,7 MB/s
dd: error writing '/dev/sda': No space left on device
247+0 records in
246+0 records out
1031798784 bytes (1,0 GB, 984 MiB) copied, 277,203 s, 3,7 MB/s

Yeah, I get your "get a bigger USB drive", "this is how it is now" etc in advance, thanks. I will buy a new drive, but I would appreciate some official statement from releng person/team: is this really expected, or this particular spin was bloated due to some mistake and ISO will be trimmed down in future?

Thank you.
