Disable backup scripts

Description:

I'd love if tar did not include backup and restore in the tar package:

• They claim excessively generic script names backup and restore, likely causing conflicts with actually useful backup scripts written by users (that's how I noticed these, as I accidentally ended up at tar's backup and was very surprised).
• tar is pretty essential, but backup and restore are not, quite on they contrary. The backup setup these script implement is pretty primitive; there are far superior backup solutions in the Arch repos.
• The backup scripts are just three files; whoever really uses this (does anyone actually do that?) can just copy the scripts directly.

If they ought to be kept, then tar should get an optdepends on inetutils for hostname which backup seems to use.

Are these programs provided by tar on other distro?

Not as part of the essential tar package, no:

• Fedora doesn't have them in tar and doesn't see to enable them at all
• Ubuntu ships them separately in universe, ie not as an essential package
• OpenSUSE has a separate backup-scripts package, see https://build.opensuse.org/projects/Base:System/packages/tar/files/tar.spec?expand=1

I think if these scripts were called tar-backup and tar-restore I'd mind less.
