Viewnior 1.8-6 broke "Last Used Mode" behavior

Description:

The purpose of "Last Used Mode" is that it retains the image zoom level when cycling through a gallery of images, keeping the position and perspective, which is extremely useful when comparing batches of similar images.

On version 1.8-6, Viewnior resets the zoom level to fit the window every time I change to a new image.

Downgrading to version 1.8-5 and it works normally. If I zoom into an image and open a new image, it doesn't reset the zoom level.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open Viewnior
2. Set it to "Last Used Mode" behavior by navigating through the following menu items: Edit -> Preferences -> General -> Open new image in:
3. Open an image in a directory with multiple images
4. Zoom in or out
5. Push the left or right arrows at the top to open the next image

Thanks for the report. The main difference between -5 and -6 was the move from gtk2 to gtk3 with the addition of a patch. Please see #1 (closed) for details.

If the functionality you need is dependent on gtk2 then I'm afraid you might be sadly outta luck.. gtk2 is end-of-life and Arch is actively trying to get rid of it. The other possibility is the new patch doesn't implement the functionality you refer to. If so, you could try contacting the upstream patch author.. but this whole thing looks unmaintained, so good luck with that... Let's see if the PM has anything to add...

No response. You could always put a GTK2 version in the AUR. Or you could investigate https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/viewnior-gtk3-git
